WEST COKER SCOUTS CAVING TASTER DAY!
Normality is finally starting to return for West Coker Scouts since the COVID pandemic lockdowns with the Scouts getting out and about more often to participate in outdoor, and high adventure activities.
Today saw 19 Scouts and some of the parents come along to Burrington Combe to take part in a Caving taster session lead by the experienced caving instructors from CAVECLIMB.
The Scouts, although a bit nervous got straight into the adventure heading to the Goats Church cave system for 2 hours underground. They come back with stories of overcoming the Coffin lid, superman squeeze, the drainpipe and dunkers alley (all parts of the cave system within).
Although tired, our party had the most amazing time and are already looking forward to coming back again soon and trying some other caves out to finish off their Scout caving badge.
Thanks again to our volunteers and parents for coming along and joining us in the adventure. Can’t wait for the next caving adventure.
