Emily is a 10-year-old Scout who contracted COVID in September 2021, causing her to lose her mobility and independence, unable to walk or dress herself. Having suffered for three months and spending 14 nights in hospital Emily was determined to return to School and Cub Scouts. Although in constant pain Emily had first to learn to walk again.

Emily decided during he stay in hospital that she wanted to do something to help the NHS and raise awareness that COVID in children is not always mild and long COVID is very real. On 1st December 2021 Emily started walking laps of her garden using her walking frame.

Wanting to do 17 laps originally (14nights in hospital + 3 months with COVID) and wanting to complete by Christmas Eve and raise £100 for NHS charities. Smashing that target she raised it to £1000 and continue doing laps.

Her new target is to complete a lap unaided without her walker. To Date Emily has risen over £10,671

Emily’s story has been well publicised within Local, National press and international news, as well as TV news channels, you only need to Google Emily Saville to see how far and wide her story has travelled.
